Greetings!
In September, Nashik witnessed the much-awaited rains, the heavy downpour uplifted our spirits as we geared up for another eventful month. This month, Parent-Teacher Meeting was conducted for the students of all classes. The efforts taken by the department to enhance the teaching-learning process during this lockdown and pandemic situation were appreciated by the parents.  The department also celebrated Teachers Day through the event organized by the EFFECT Student body.
Mock In-sem examinations were conducted as a part of the continuous assessments process which also helped to boost students' confidence and understanding of the subjects. Project Review-1 was conducted for final year students, which is an important milestone for the project. It also helped students in gaining a better insight and understanding of the expectations and requirements of the project which is essential to decide the course of action. The details for the events and achievements for September are given below.

Department Events:

Expert Session on “What next? Career Trajectories for Electrical Engineers in tomorrow's disruptive world.” by Shri. Adithya Vangari on 3^rd September 2021

Department of Electrical Engineering organized an Expert Session on “What next? Career trajectories for Electrical engineers in tomorrow's disruptive world.” by Mr. Adithya Vangari, SE Demand, and inventory planner, Volvo Group, Supply Chain Optimization, Göteborg. The speaker delivered excellent content regarding Smart Grid & EV. Total 14 students from SE, TE, BE took gain through the lecture. The session focused on the career which can be adopted by Electrical Engineers. The content included recent technologies including AI/ML which will help students to develop an interest in the respective domain and choose a better career ahead.

T & P Activity- “Campus Interview Preparation” by Mr. Anurag Lulhe conducted on 6^th September 2021

Department of Electrical Engineering has organized a lecture on “Campus Interview Preparation” by Mr. Anurag Lulhe, Technical Specialist, ARK Infosolutions. The speaker addressed the students about the Campus Interview Preparation making them aware of the Technical Interview. A total of 45 students from BE took gain through the lecture. The session focused on the core subjects like the Power system which will help the students in making their basic concepts clear. The speaker also added key questions generally asked in the interview.

Expert Session on “Creativity and Innovation” by Dr. Nakul Sharedalal on 15^th September 2021

Session on “Creativity and Innovation” by Dr. Nakul Sharedalal, IP Advocate, Ahmedabad was organized by E&TC Department and was attended by the students of the Electrical Department. The speaker delivered unique content regarding creativity and innovation. Total 38 students from SE, TE, BE, ME took benefit of it. The session made students aware of creativity and innovation ideas in the industries. The content and knowledge gained through the session will help students in academics as well. 

Expert Session on “Overview of Substation & its Components” by Mr. Akshay D Mogarkar on 20^th September 2021

Department of Electrical Engineering organized an Expert Session on “Overview of Substation & its Components” by Mr. Akshay D Mogarkar, Deputy Manager, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited. The speaker introduced the substation components which are essential for the protection and proper functioning of Power systems. Total 59 students from TE gained knowledge and information about it. The content of the lecture was fascinating and students will definitely develop an interest in the respective domain. It will also add to the academics as well. 

Expert Session on “Earthing system” by Mr. Gajanan Sarode on 25^th September 2021

Department of Electrical Engineering organized an Expert Session on “Earthing system” by Mr. Gajanan Sarode, Deputy Executive Engineer, Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Ltd. The speaker introduced the concept of Earthing System and also helps understand the importance of Earthing. Total 61 students from SE, TE, BE took again through the lecture. The session focused on Earthing required for installation purposes. Excellent content along with the experience of the speaker fascinated the audience.

Parent-Teaching Meeting:

Online Parent-Teacher meeting for the academic year 2021-22 was conducted on 4th September 2021 at 3:30 pm via the Google meet platform. Around 72 parents were present for the meeting. Parents were briefed about the overall progress of the department regarding online lectures and practical sessions conducted, assignments given and checked, MCQs, placement activities, use of LearniCo platform for online teaching, expert talks, webinars, etc. Parents also expressed their views during the meeting.

Teachers Day Celebration:

Teacher’s day was celebrated by the EFFECT student’s Body on 6^th September 2021, Monday. All teachers joined in the zoom meeting. Students also shared photographs and their feeling towards teachers by a small video.

Faculty Achievement

Dr. Ravindra Munje has received a group ‘Best Project Award’ in the competition organized in AICTE ATAL FDP on AICTE-IDEA Lab organized by D. Y. Patil International University, Pune conducted from 23^rdto 28^th September 2021 with the hands of Hon. Vice-chancellor and Chairman of AICTE IDEA Lab Steering Committee Prof. Prabhat Ranjan. Other members in the group were Prof. D. V. R. Mohan (SRKREC, Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh) Prof. Sridhar Singam (BITS, Warangal, Telangana), Prof.AmithGadari (KLE DR MSSCET, Karanataka), and Prof.Keerthana Krishnan (RIET, Kerala).

Alumni Achievement

Mr. Akshay kumar Kawale (2020 Passed out) has been awarded the ‘HSE Excellence Award’by ABB India Limited on 21st September 2021 in recognition of Solution for Workplace under the HSE excellence category for the period January 2021 to June 2021 in Indoor Product Business. He reported and resolved 20 numbers of hazards. 

Ms. Megha Nasikakar (2005 batch) is featured in the newspaper on the occasion of Engineer’s Day for her great contribution to the Electrical Engineering field. She is currently with ABB Nashik.

Alumni Connect-WhatsApp Group

"KKW EED Alumni Connect" is the joint initiative undertaken with alumni of the department. The electrical engineering department has a large number of alumni who are working across the sectors in government as well as private companies in India and abroad. In this, alumni are contacted for interactions with current students who will mentor them to decide their career perspectives and ensure professional growth. Activities are coordinated by alumni Mr. Omkar Buwa (onbuwa@gmail.com) and Mr. Aakash Borse (avborse1999@gmail.com).
