Scenario of Electrical Engineering During and Post COVID-19

The development of various branches of Economy, right from industry to agriculture, depends greatly on the accessibility and usage of electricity. The pandemic, COVID-19 has not only affected the people’s well-being and the country’s economy but also has affected the electrical engineering sector. The generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity are the vital jobs for the industrial sector and also for the groups of people reliant on the safe and reliable power supply. These groups include people in hospitals, people staying at home, people working from home, kids studying online, etc.

Completed AICTE Sponsored Phase 1 STTP from 10th August 2020 to 14th August 2020

Electrical Department had received funds from AICTE for conducting a one-week Short-Term Training Programme (STTP). As per the guidelines of AICTE, during this COVID-19 situation, it is to be conducted in three different phases in online mode. The 1st phase of the same is recently completed from 10th August 2020 to 14th August 2020. The title of STTP is ‘IoT and Advanced Power Electronics Application in Smart Grid’. Total of 1200 participants registered for the same. Out of this, around 450 participants attended this STTP. The speakers were Dr. H. M. Suryawanshi, Dr. Ritesh Kumar Keshri, Dr. P. Chaturvedi, Dr. M. V. Aware, Dr. M. S. Ballal, Dr. Mrs. M. A. Chaudhari from VNIT Nagpur, Dr. B. Chitti Babu from Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design, and Manufacturing, Chennai, Dr. M. M. Renge from Ramdeobaba College of Engineering, Nagpur, Dr. P. P. Bedekar from Government College of Engineering, Chandrapur, and Dr. B. E. Kushare from K. K. Wagh College of Engineering, Nashik. Recording of all the sessions will be made available on the YouTube Channel of the Department.
