It
gives me immense pleasure to present the September 2025 edition of our
Department of Electrical Engineering e-Newsletter. This month has been a
testament to our collective spirit of learning, innovation, and achievement.
From insightful expert sessions on emerging technologies like Smart Grids and
Power Systems to enriching industrial visits, student competitions, and
inspiring alumni interactions — every event reflects our department’s
commitment to holistic growth.
I am
particularly proud of our students who have brought laurels through placements,
awards, and research accomplishments. Their enthusiasm and perseverance
continue to strengthen our legacy of excellence. Equally, our faculty’s
dedication to academic advancement, research, and industry collaboration
reinforces our department’s vision of preparing globally competent engineers.
As we
move ahead, let us continue to nurture curiosity, creativity, and collaboration
— the true cornerstones of engineering education. I extend my heartfelt
appreciation to all faculty members, students, and coordinators who contributed
to making this month’s journey so vibrant and inspiring.

Expert session on “Control Panel Design" by Mr. Shrikant Jadhav, Sr. Design Engineer, Engineers Training Academy, on 13th September 2025
An Expert lecture was arranged in association with the
IET On-Campus on “Control Panel Design” for TY Electrical Division: A
and B students and staff of the department on 13/9/2025. Resource Person: Mr.Shrikant Jadhav, Sr. Design Engineer, Engineers Training
Academy. Total
No. of Students present = 45. The expert lecture on “Control Panel Design”
provided students with practical insights into the design, layout, and
functioning of electrical control panels used in industries and automation
systems. The expert explained key components such as circuit breakers,
contactors, relays, PLCs, and wiring systems, along with safety standards and
design considerations for efficient operation. Students learned about panel
schematic preparation, selection of components based on load requirements, and
cable management techniques. The session helped bridge theoretical concepts
with real-world applications, enhancing students’ understanding of industrial
control systems and electrical design practices.
Expert session on “Faults in Power System " by Mr Mangesh Dalvi, Additional Executive Engineer, MSETCL, on 27th September 2025
An Expert lecture was arranged in association with IET
On-Campus on “Faults in Power System” for TY Electrical Division: A
and B students and staff of the department on 27/9/2025. Resource
Person: Mr Mangesh Dalvi, Additional
Executive Engineer, MSETCL. Total
No. of Students present = 81. The expert lecture on “Faults in Power Systems”
provided students with a clear understanding of various types of faults, their
causes, effects, and protection methods. The session enhanced students’
knowledge of symmetrical and unsymmetrical faults, fault analysis using
symmetrical components, and the importance of protective devices like relays
and circuit breakers. Real-time examples and fault simulation demonstrations
helped bridge the gap between theory and practice. Overall, the lecture
improved students’ practical awareness of fault diagnosis and system
protection, strengthening their foundation in power system studies.
Expert session on “Smart Grid " by Mr Lalit Lambole, Graduate Trainee Engineer, Schneider Electric, on 30th September 2025
An Expert lecture was arranged in an online Session in
association with the EFFECT Student chapter of the Electrical Department on “Smart Grid” for last year's Electrical
Division: A and B students and
staff of the department on 30/9/2025. Resource
Person: Mr Lalit Lambole, Graduate
Trainee Engineer, Schneider Electric. Total No. of Students present = 68. The
expert lecture on “Smart Grid” enhanced students’ understanding of modern power
systems integrating advanced communication, automation, and renewable
technologies. The session covered the concept, architecture, and components of
smart grids, including smart meters, sensors, and two-way communication
networks. The expert explained how smart grids improve efficiency, reliability,
and sustainability of electricity supply while enabling real-time monitoring
and control. Students also learned about demand response, distributed
generation, and integration of renewable energy sources. Overall, the lecture
provided valuable insights into emerging trends and technologies shaping the
future of the electrical power sector.
Teachers’ Day Celebration by EFFECT Student Body – Honoring Our Mentors
On the
occasion of “Teachers’ Day, the
EFFECT student body of the Electrical Engineering Department organized a
heartfelt celebration to honor and appreciate the contributions of teachers. During
the program, all the faculty members of the department, along with our
respected Principal and the Heads of Departments, were felicitated by the
students as a gesture of gratitude and respect. The event reflected the values
of appreciation, respect, and the strong bond that exists between students and
teachers. Such celebrations not only bring joy but also remind us of the
profound role teachers play in shaping young minds, inspiring aspirations, and
guiding students towards success. A big appreciation to the EFFECT student body
for their sincere efforts in organizing this memorable celebration and for
keeping alive the spirit of Teachers’ Day.
Honoring Creativity & Inspiration
On 15th
September 2025, our department had the privilege of hosting Mr. Pranav Satbhai – a renowned artist,
2x World Record Holder, Asia Youth Icon Holder, and Excellence Award 2024 recipient
Mr. Satbhai
graced the event by presenting awards to the winners of our Photography
Competition, an initiative to celebrate creativity and artistic vision. He also
shared his journey and insights, leaving students inspired to nurture their
passion beyond academics.
This
wonderful initiative was organized by the Avishkar Student Body of the
Department, a platform where students are encouraged to explore and showcase
their talents. The event was successfully coordinated by Prof. Sonali Patil along with the dedicated Avishkar Student Team.
Strengthening Industry-Academia Collaboration – Visit by MSETCL Officials!
On 16th
September 2025, we had the honor of welcoming senior officials from Maharashtra
State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL) to our department:

Shri. Patil, Executive Engineer
Their visit
involved insightful interactions on various important issues related to the
power sector, providing valuable perspectives for both faculty and students.
Such
engagements strengthen the bridge between industry and academia, enabling our
students to connect classroom learning with real-world challenges.
Alumni Interaction Session on Placement Preparation – 13th September 2025
On 13th
September 2025, the Department of Electrical Engineering organized an engaging
interaction session with our recently placed alumni:
Mr. Sarthak Nand
Mr. Tushar Deore
They shared
their placement journey, recruitment process insights, interview preparation
tips, and workplace experiences, giving our final-year students a real-world
perspective on career readiness. With 41 enthusiastic participants, the session
turned out to be highly interactive, informative, and motivating. Such
initiatives not only bridge the gap between alumni and students but also
inspire the next generation to aim higher and prepare smarter. This was
coordinated by Dr Saravanan S.
Session on Climate Change and the Common Man on 18th September!
Under the
course 'Education and Energy Awareness Programme (EEAP)', a thought-provoking
session was organized for TY Electrical students on 18th September 2025.
The topic of
the session, “Climate Change and the
Common Man”, was delivered by Mr
Dnyaneshwar Rathod, an expert from the Maharashtra State Agriculture
Department with over 12 years of experience. His insights highlighted the
crucial role each of us plays in addressing climate change and adopting
sustainable practices.
This session
was organized under the EFFECT Student Club and was ably coordinated by Prof. Chetan Gadge and Prof. Hemant Patil.
Such
initiatives not only spread awareness but also inspire our students to become
responsible citizens contributing towards a greener future.
The
Department organized a Parents Meeting for the students of Second Year (SY) and
Third Year (TY) Electrical Engineering on 27th September 2025.
The objective
of the meeting was to share the academic progress of students in the
In-Semester Examination and seek valuable suggestions and feedback from parents.
A special
highlight of the program was the felicitation of 16 students who won prizes in
various events, celebrating their talent and achievements.
This event
was successfully coordinated by Ms. Ashwini Khaire and Ms. Archana Pawar.
Such
interactions strengthen the bond between students, parents, and faculty,
ensuring continuous growth and collaboration.

Proud Moment for the Department!
We are
delighted to share that our student, Abhishek
Pandav, has been placed in a Multi-National Company for the academic year
2025-26.
This
achievement reflects his hard work, dedication, and perseverance throughout his
journey. It also motivates his peers to aim higher and prepare themselves for
exciting career opportunities ahead.
